Morning: Pickup in Kigali and Transfer to Musanze

Your adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your Kigali hotel or the airport. Your guide will accompany you on a scenic drive to Musanze, where you’ll take in the rolling hills and lush landscapes of Rwanda. Late Morning: Visit to Twin Lakes Burera and Ruhondo

Upon arrival in Musanze, your first stop will be the serene Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. You can enjoy a short walk along the shores or take in the views from one of the nearby vantage points, where the lakes’ beauty truly shines.

Enjoy traditional music, dancing, drumming, and storytelling. You’ll also meet community members who are involved in conservation efforts, gaining a firsthand understanding of the region’s dedication to preserving both culture and wildlife.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes, Local Market Visit

Early Morning: Gorilla Trekking Briefing at Park Headquarters

Begin your day with an early breakfast before heading to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters. At 7:00 AM, you’ll attend a briefing by park rangers, where you’ll learn about gorilla trekking etiquette and safety protocols. You’ll then be assigned to a gorilla family based on your preferences and fitness level.

Morning: Gorilla Trekking Adventure

Embark on your gorilla trek through the lush, misty rainforests of the park. Depending on the location of the gorilla family, the trek can take anywhere from 1 to 4 hours. As you venture deeper into the forest, your guide will share fascinating information about the wildlife and plants in the area.

• Gorilla Encounter: When you finally meet the gorilla family, you’ll have up to one hour to observe these majestic creatures up close. Watching the gorillas interact, feed, and play is a profoundly moving experience.

Midday: Lunch and relax from hotel.

After your trek, return to the hotel for lunch and relax.  

Afternoon: Visit to Local Market in Musanze

Day 3: Golden Monkey Trek, Transfer to Gisenyi for Tea Plantation Experience

Early Morning: Golden Monkey Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Late Morning: Transfer to Gisenyi

Following the golden monkey trek, begin the scenic drive to Gisenyi, a beautiful town on the shores of Lake Kivu. The drive takes about 1.5 hours, offering views of Rwanda’s stunning landscape.

Afternoon: Tea Experience in Gisenyi

Upon arrival in Gisenyi, embark on atea plantation tour. You’ll learn about the tea-growing process from field to cup, with an in-depth look at how tea is cultivated, harvested, and processed.
