Itinerary

Day 1: Pickup from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park

Our guide will pick you up in Kigali between 9am & 11am and drive to Volcanoes National Park. Visit Kinigi for Ibyi’wacu cultural experience at Volcanoes National Park. Alternatively, before driving from Kigali, visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial and Museum. The drive from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park is estimated at 3hrs.

Day 2: Golden Monkey Trek in Volcanoes & Transfer to Bwindi, Uganda

We will transfer to Bwindi National Park for dinner and overnight. We will drive through the Rwanda-Uganda border at Cyanika.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking at Bwindi National Park

You will head to the Bwindi National Park gate immediately after breakfast to get a briefing about the gorilla trek. The national park guide will conduct the presentation that covers the basics of what to expect during the gorilla trek. The national guide will assign the gorilla trekking group during the pre-trekking briefing. Other visitors will likely join you. The gorilla trek can take from few to many hours, depending on how far the gorillas are inside the forest. After the gorilla trek, we will drive back to the lodge. An optional community activity in the afternoon is available for booking.

Day 4: Transfer from Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth National Park

We will start the journey in the morning from Bwindi National Park and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The tour will take you through the stunning landscapes of western Uganda. You will arrive at Queen Elizabeth National Park in the late afternoon. An afternoon game drive is scheduled at the Kasenyi plains.
 

Day 5: Kasenyi Plains Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Trip

The day began with an exciting game drive through the Kasenyi Plains, a prime area for wildlife viewing in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Guests spotted various animals, including elephants, lions, buffaloes, antelopes, and numerous bird species, all set against the stunning backdrop of the open savannah.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking at Kalinzu Forest Reserve and Drive Back to Kigali

The day began with an exhilarating chimpanzee trekking experience at Kalinzu Forest Reserve, where guests immersed themselves in the dense rainforest to track habituated chimpanzee groups. Along the way, they encountered other primates, colorful birds, and diverse plant species. The highlight was observing the playful and dynamic behavior of the chimpanzees in their natural habitat.

After the trek, the journey back to Kigali commenced. The scenic drive through rolling hills and countryside provided a peaceful conclusion to the adventure. The day marked a perfect blend of wildlife exploration and cultural immersion.
